Manufacturer screen alerts have their own model and software scope. Start with the exact displayed text and current owner manual.

Why this is separate

An EV or driver-assistance screen alert is not automatically an SAE-style P, B, C or U diagnostic trouble code. Exact alert wording, software version, model year and accompanying symptoms matter. Record them before using the current manufacturer manual or contacting service.

Some alerts describe a temporary unavailable feature, while others describe a condition needing prompt help. A familiar phrase such as power reduced does not establish the underlying component or that the vehicle can safely continue. The exact current screen action and observed vehicle behavior come first.

What to save before contacting service

  • Full alert ID and message, including its suffix
  • Model year and installed software version
  • When the alert appeared and whether charging, braking or propulsion changed
  • A photo of the screen taken only after the vehicle is safely parked
