Owner Reports About Warning Lights and Codes

Read two clearly unverified owner reports and the diagnostic questions they raise, without treating anecdotes as verified fixes or vehicle-wide failures.

UNVERIFIED OWNER REPORTS

These reports show the questions owners asked. They are not independently diagnosed failures, repair-success evidence or fault-rate data.

Subaru Outback: several warnings together

A self-reported 2022 Outback thread described EyeSight becoming unavailable alongside a check-engine light and a reported P26A3. The reviewed discussion did not establish a final repair. A Subaru thermal-control bulletin in the research set has a different captured year scope; this report does not extend that bulletin to the 2022 vehicle.

The useful owner action is to save every dashboard message and a full-system scan, then check the exact year and engine with a qualified shop. A disabled driver-assistance feature should not be relied on until the condition is understood.

Chevrolet Malibu: P0420 after parts replacement

A self-reported 2011 Malibu thread described P0420 persisting after exhaust and sensor work, with other oxygen-sensor-related codes listed. The reviewed thread does not prove which repair was correct or that any named part was defective. It does illustrate why replacing more parts without a system test can leave the original condition unresolved.

A shop should review the complete code set, exhaust integrity and fuel-control evidence. The vehicle year, engine and prior repair details matter. This one report cannot establish a common Malibu failure or a typical repair cost.

These six links are question leads from the supplied plan, not verified repair outcomes. The exact post, vehicle scope and any later update need a fresh source review before they become a case guide.

How we use community accounts

  • Treat the report as a question or symptom pattern, not an official diagnosis.
  • Preserve the source link without copying personal identity into the site.
  • Check manufacturer documents for the exact vehicle and current revision.
  • Do not convert a single owner's outcome into a failure rate or product recommendation.
