Save the evidence first

  • Full DTCs
  • Recent air-filter work
  • Engine and intake configuration

Safe owner checks

  • Inspect the air-box lid and accessible duct connections with engine off.
  • Look for a visibly misplaced filter seal without disconnecting sensors.

Questions for a qualified technician

  • Is the filter/bracket seated, and are measured airflow and related sensor values plausible for this engine?
  • Is a circuit issue, intake leak or actual sensor fault supported by testing?

Common wrong turns

  • Do not spray arbitrary solvents into a MAF sensor.
  • P1101 is not interpreted identically for every make.

Confirm the repair

  • Verify sealing and operation; rescan under the conditions specified by the service information.
