First checks while safely parked
- When parked, record the exact symbol, color, flashing pattern and message.
- Use the selected vehicle manual before interpreting a similar-looking symbol.
When to get professional help
- Use a technician with support for the affected system when the fault persists.
What this warning does not prove
- A passenger-airbag-off status indicator is not automatically an SRS fault.
- Do not install resistors to extinguish the warning.
The checklist is an editorial reading of the cited sources, not an OEM repair procedure. A warning name alone does not identify a failed component.
Questions for a qualified shop
- What exact restraint-module fault and approved procedure apply?
Vehicle-specific confirmation
Symbols, colors, messages and flashing patterns vary by model year and equipment. Use the exact manual. If the vehicle feels unsafe, the observed condition takes priority over this general label.
