Nissan front-radar obstruction: weather and replacement are different branches. See the manufacturer document, vehicle conditions, exclusions and questions for a qualified shop before assuming a repair.
This is a research summary of a manufacturer communication, not a diagnosis for your car, a DIY repair procedure or confirmation of warranty or recall eligibility. No qualified technician has approved a repair for your individual vehicle here.
This historical communication is conditional. The current revision, VIN/build eligibility, measured diagnosis and any warranty or recall decision are not established here. Ask the manufacturer or a qualified shop to check the complete current document.

What prompted this manufacturer document
- Radar obstruction may suspend ICC/AEB and display an obstruction message. Weather or contamination does not automatically prove a failed radar.
Which vehicle conditions must be checked
Each row below retains its own conditions. Do not combine engines, years or models across rows to create new applications. A listed model is not proof that a particular VIN is affected.

- The specified radar DTC must be the only stored DTC for this procedure.
- Replacement requires the narrower Table A vehicle subset, repeated events on multiple trips and a sensor manufactured before 2018-09-01 (raw stamp format 01.09.2018).
Codes recorded in this document
A root listed only as an appearance has no separately verified meaning here. Preserve every suffix and module name; a shared root does not transfer a repair branch to another vehicle.
| Root | Raw form | Meaning in this source, if established |
|---|---|---|
| C1A16 | C1A16, C1A16-97 | Front-radar obstruction diagnostic indication in this Nissan bulletin; preserve any symptom suffix. |
| C2582 | C2582, C2582-97 | Front-radar obstruction diagnostic indication in this Nissan bulletin; preserve any symptom suffix. |
What an owner can record safely
- From a safe parked position, note weather and accessible cover contamination; clean only as the owner manual permits.
Bulletin eligibility questions
The source uses these gates before choosing a professional diagnostic branch. A missing answer means applicability is unknown; passing one gate never authorizes a repair.
- Only the specified radar DTC is stored
- Radar replacement Table A membership
- Repeated radar events on multiple trips
- Radar sensor manufacturing cutoff
What the source does not prove
- Do not rely on unavailable driver assistance, adjust the radar bracket or buy a radar based on one wet-weather alert.
- A code or message alone does not establish a failed part, a safe-to-drive decision or an approved repair for this VIN.
- A service bulletin is not automatically a recall or free warranty repair. Confirm current eligibility directly.
Questions for the repair shop
- Does the car qualify for Table A, and were the sensor date and recurrence requirements checked?
- Does a later revision or a current recall change the source's original advice?
- What measurement or inspection confirms the cause, and how will the repair be verified?
Open source-review issue
- Q2-004: Nissan's overall applicability table is broader than the radar-replacement subset in Table A. The 2016 Rogue Hybrid US year also needs separate confirmation.
- Q2-012: A matching code and model name alone do not satisfy the manufacturer's diagnostic gates; symptom, build and test conditions still need checking.
The uncertain field is not used here to claim a current fitment, repair or market-wide failure.
